I held on to your sunglasses, kept them in my car. Wore them, fondled them, thought about how once they danced so sweetly on your face. Where the eyes that once loved me played their games.
I wore them when I floated the river, the river we once floated together, where I got a wicked sunburn.
I took those sunglasses off and tossed them into the river, where they sank to the bottom, lost to the water, where once I lost my heart to you.
