When my soul was lost in a wicked world where nothing and no one seemed to numb the unrelenting pain that consumed me, I would reach for my usual God replacements.
The distractions, the delights, the drugs, the damned shameless things of the world that promised short term escape from unending troubles.
These were my God replacements. If only I had surrendered and reached out for an invisible God, instead of toxic, short term, tangible addictive substances, which delivered nothing but an endless cycle of misery.
