"Can someone please tell me what they think the absence of addiction is, anyone...?"
There was silence, in the group of addicts sent to rehab for various substance abuse issues.
"Well, of course it's sobriety." A girl rang out. "Obviously. We need to be sober, is that right?"
"No." The group counselor came back.
"You want us to be sober, that's why we're here. We're getting sober..." She didn't understand.
"Wrong." He stated. "The absence of addiction is human connection. The more genuine human connections an addict has, the less likely they are to use addictive substances."
"But..?" She interjected. "There's nothing and no one that can make me feel as good as the drugs and addictions that have consumed me."
He sat, puzzled, for he knew not what to say...
